I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one:
Oh Lord, make my enemies ridiculous. And God granted it.

[000] Compilers ----------------------------------------------------------------
- Only the official Rust compiler is competent?
- GCC-RS is almost capable of building freestanding binaries, with a very low
target for supporting Rust features.
- mrustc is at best a bootstrap compiler, and only for some platforms
[001] RUSTFLAGS is not passed to build scripts during cross compilation --------
Broken RUSTFLAGS behavior causes things like
broken linking
which then propagates to native build failures
[002] Broken upstream binaries with years-old issues ---------------------------
Using the `dev-lang/rust` package in Gentoo bypasses the above bug. This is
because while all major musl distributions patch out this behavior,
`dev-lang/rust-bin` uses rust-lang.org binaries, which don't. `rust-bin` suffers
from an issue where the solution
was found by the compiler team in... 2021. It wasn't added to the tracking issue
until 2024
